Description

This course provides an overview of compensation and benefit practices within the context of an organization. The primary objective of the course is to expand the knowledge, skill and ability of human resources professionals and to increase their potential for becoming effective members of their organizations. A wide variety of topics and theories introduced in the course include how to link executive pay with performance, why incentive plans cannot work, rethinking rewards, what you need to know about stock options, the requirements associated with Social Security, Unemployment and Workers' Compensation, and the many sides of insurance. The course will follow the basic outline of discussing compensation and benefits in philosophical manner and examining the pros and cons of practices used by both large and small companies throughout the United States.
