Agriculture Law (BMT 521)

Description

This course is designed to provide an introduction to the central issues and concerns of contemporary agricultural law. Fundamentals of contract law, torts law, and property law will accompany discussion of major issues of agricultural law; acquisition and disposal of farmland; farm tenancies; rights and limitations in the use and ownership of farmland; protection of the productivity of agricultural land; and the law of sales and secured transactions in an agricultural context. The student who successfully completes this course will have developed the skill to recognize agricultural law issues related to those subject areas covered in class.
