Description

This course will identify and explain the characteristics that distinguish government and not-for-profit entities and the differences in the accounting methodology. In addition, the course will provide knowledge of accounting for state and local governments, including proper financial reporting. This course will also provide information on regulatory and taxation issues for not-for-profits. Governmental Accounting will give the student the ability to understand auditing, budgeting, and management decisions for not-for-profits, governmental entities, colleges and universities and health care organizations.
