Description

This course, the laboratory component of Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 327), is the second half of the two-term laboratory series exploring the evolutionary connectivity among diverse organisms of the animal kingdom. It will trace the changes that have occurred by focusing on one organ system at a time through a series of a few representative animals. The organ systems to be covered in this second semester of Comparative Anatomy lab are the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, immune, urinary, and reproductive systems. They will be explored through the dissection of preserved specimens, models and interaction with computer software. This course must be taken concurrently with BIO 327 (lecture). (Prerequisites: BIO114/115, BIO 124/125, BIO 317/318, CHM 114/115, and MAT 111 or MAT 124)
