Description

This is an advanced course in theory, process, and application of classroom management models and school environment. Foundational and contemporary classroom and school management theories and models will be explored and applied to respective scenarios, situations, and issues through vignettes and students' personal experiences.

This course includes theoretical perspectives such as: Democratic Teaching, Congruent
Communications, Conflict Resolution, Inner Discipline, Judicious Discipline, Cooperative
Discipline, and Discipline with Dignity. Comparisons are made between basic foundational and co temporary theories and practices in the areas of classroom and school-wide management. Cent educational problems and issues that exist on local and national levels are exposed and addressed through the text, cooperative discussions, collaborative inquiry, and cooperative and individual learning projects.

Emphasis will be placed on the roles of educators and administrators as facilitators
