SalesTek reps will struggle if the company continues to limit their resources to finding wireless hotspots in order to utilize the Internet.   www.wifinder.com and www.jiwire.com both have the Denver market listed with over 300 hotspots.  This is a good number and the sales reps will be able to find access very quickly while in this market.  The problem is the Salt Lake City and Santa Fe markets.  Salt Lake City is listed at just a few over 100 hotspots, while Santa Fe is well below 100 hotspots.  The company needs to look into alternative methods to give their reps the opportunity to sell while in these markets, instead of chasing hotspots.

The best method for these reps is to provide them with smart phones.  Sales Teck can customize these phones to give their sales reps the necessary programs and tools to sell and succeed in the field.   Many businesses with field reps utilize the smart phones over laptops to increase the productivity of the sales reps.  The only problem will be some limited coverage due to dead zones in New Mexico and Santa Fe.  Since SalesTek reps are traveling they will also have access to wifi in the hotels they stay at also, which will enable them to catch up in the evenings and mornings.

Satellite Internet would be another option if the company struggles with dead zones for the smart phones in their markets.  Satellite will enable the reps to have Internet access anywhere in their territories.  The reps will be able to work on site and not chasing reception and hotspots, but it will cost the company more.  Satellite Internet will be the most reliable for the company also.  I have a friend who has family on the east coast.  When they travel her company will provide her with the satellite stick for her computer.  She is able to access and update patient files and medical records while on the road the entire time with a constant connection.
