There are so many things that you can do with iPod products- being able to offer your patients music via a media player that is compact as well as staying within your organizations regulations is a great example. One thing I did not think about when writing my post was satellite radio. I'm not quite sure about all of the different versions of iPods but I do know with the iPhone and iTouch there are downloadable applications such as Pandora that allow you to listen to streamline music and you can customize the stations you listen to to a certain genre. I don't see Walkmans existing here in the next 5-10 years at the rate technology is increasing- having one will be like having an A-track plaer (I think thats what they are called) you can't get any new music for it and anyone younger than you has never seen one before, like me I only know what they are because I've heard people older than me refer to them I can honestly say I think I've only seen one!

I agree Jeff...at 48 I'm feeling my age too.  8-tracks were the most awesome invention at the time.  Even though they were soon supplanted by cassette tapes (which you youngsters probably haven't heard of either), 8-tracks were a huge technological advancement in a time when technology moved much, MUCH slower than it does now.
