Description

This course, the second half of the two-term series, will focus on anatomical and physiological connectivity among diverse members of the animal kingdom. It will take an evolutionary approach that will lead to an understanding of how form and function change over time in response to natural selection. Specific organs and organ systems will be highlighted. The organ systems to be covered in this second semester of Comparative Anatomy are the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, immune, urinary, and reproductive systems. You will learn to identify anatomical structures and recognize their important characteristics while gaining knowledge of anatomical and physiological terminology. This course is designed for students interested in veterinary medicine or with a general interest in animal anatomy and physiology. This course must be taken concurrently with BIO 328 (lab). (Prerequisites: BIO114/115, BIO 124/125, BIO 317/318, CHM 114/115, and MAT 111 or MAT 124)
