The initial view of the Blog portlet shows
only the most recently posted items. Generally, this view includes
between two and 10 posts. Depending on the way your school's portal
is set up, the display will include:
·The
full text of these posts.
·Only
a portion of each post; in this case, you can click through to see
the full text of each item.
The system uses a vertical bar at the left
to show whether a post is new since the last time you viewed the portlet
instance. (The bar is either blue or red -- red if the item is marked
“important,” blue otherwise.) The next time you view the portlet,
the bar will not be displayed, even if you haven't yet clicked through
to see the full text of the post.
You can view older posts by scrolling to
the bottom of the portlet instance and clicking the Older Items link.
In response, the system displays a page that
includes any older posts that exist. This page includes an archive
at the left. The archive includes a list of months to which you can
navigate, and a drop-down list that lets you display posts from previous
years.
